International Women's Day

Any time women come together with a collective intention, it's a powerful thing. Whether it's sitting down making a quilt, in a kitchen preparing a meal, in a club reading the same book, or around the table playing cards, or planning a birthday party, when women come together with a collective intention, magic happens - Phylicia Rashad, American actress, singer & director.

Today, March 8th is International Women's Day!

This is a day to identify and celebrate the social, economic, cultural, and political accomplishments achieved by women & girls everywhere. It's also a way to raise awareness of the progress made by women & girls toward achieving gender equality and the work left to be done.

And I think it's a day to celebrate every single thing that a Women represent in life: a mother, a wife, a healer, a breadwinner on many occasions...

And I want to highlight this last bit: a breadwinner on many occasions. I have met many beautiful Ladies that are sole breadwinners for their families, yet also a woman with many strengths and abilities - including the ability to create a small business.

I want to shout out to some of my favorite women in business. These are Ladies beyond foodies. They are mothers or caregivers, yet they balance the time to become small business owners and achieve other careers in order to be blessed with positive outcomes.

I want to take this opportunity to give a special shout to many women (family, friends, acquaintances, etc.) that have made wonders for themselves and are achieving greatness with their small businesses:

Carla from Luna's Cakes - a lovely & very happy woman who started her bakery journey as a hobby. Mixing her Venezuelan flavors with her love of desserts, she has grown a delicious bakery business.

Wendy from Your Helpful Wendy - a woman that can be defined as a burst of sunshine. She's a foodie & travel lover that has taken her hobbies into a great guide for other women out there.

Rina from Subito Pronto Kitchen (SPK) - is a great chef with a big heart. SPK (her Italian food business) was born on July 2020 after grieving for her Father. Everything started creating with her daughter in the middle of my grief and it bloomed into an amazing project.

Berta from El Delicioso Express - a great woman with a side hustle bakery/catering business that offers delicious Venezuelan treats, great bakes, and holiday dishes.

Claudia from Camila's Patisserie - a lovely, strong, and inspiring woman who found her marvelous way of creating a delicious dessert after going through some not-so-great moments in her life. This is an example that greatness can be achieved after not-so-good moments.

Melissa from Healing Hands PTA - a great, beautiful woman with a passion for helping people through health & wellness.

Lucy from Motyland - a happy baker that offers delicious desserts and even traditional Venezuelan drinks; her adventure started as a hobby of creating delicious treats for her young son and it turned into a delicious business.

Liz from Herpreneur Artisan Market - an amazing woman with an even greater project that helps and supports other women with their small businesses.

Isanic from Nani's Inspiration - a woman that's a burst of lovely humbleness. She's a creative, sweet, cheerful, and dreamy entrepreneurial mom.

Kena G. Coach & Author - a woman who becomes a strong friend once you meet her. A woman who has grown, learned & transformed her life for the better, and guides others to do the same. She's a source of sunshine and wisdom.

Yosmar C. Real Estate Agent (in FL) - a strong, lovely woman who has great knowledge and a heart well-rooted in values & kindness. Loves to work for the well-being of friends, family, and clients.

These Ladies, just like many others, have shared their grain of greatness in this World. These are the type of Women who provide a great source of energy and love to the World and help to make it a better place.

Cheers to all the Women in this World
