Craving Tacos, Craving New Place

Live everyday like it's Taco Tuesday!

In some U.S. cities, many people just rejoice for Taco Tuesday. Basically, it is a tradition of going out on Tuesday nights to eat tacos or other Mexican dishes that are normally served in a tortilla. From what I have seen, people start earlier – going all the way as early as lunchtime
This past Tuesday, I was one of those people starting Taco Tuesday during lunchtime…
As I was craving some good tacos during lunchtime at work, I also wanted to try a new restaurant near Downtown Fort Lauderdale. I had thought of Rocco’s Tacos but I have tried this place already – and loved it, by the way – and my foodie heart wanted something else.
Thanks to a particular food delivery website, I found an interesting place: El Camino Mezcal & Tequila Bar. It’s described as having Mexican soul food, so I decided to get some soulful tacos from this place.
To satisfy my taco craving, I chose the Spicy Achiote Chicken Taco. A serving of 3 homemade corn tortillas with achiote grilled chicken, some Arbol chile, scallion, and yummy cotija cheese. My taste buds had a roller-coaster sensation of emotions between the great homemade tortilla taste, the freshness of each ingredient, and that spicy yumminess on each bit.
In addition, I wanted to eat something soulfully healthy. For this reason, I chose to get an avocado salad – a nice dish with fresh avocado pieces, red onions, queso fresco (Mexican cheese), and a cilantro vinaigrette. A fresh & colorful combination that just shouted out “Eat Me!”

I loved trying this new place since I did see it is a true Mexican soul food. All is awesomely balanced when spicy goes hand-by-hand with fresh, flavorful ingredients. Next time I do have to go to the actual restaurant instead of just ordering delivery…
